Beta Terms

This Beta Addendum was drafted by the author without attorney review. It describes the intent of the beta program, including lifetime-Pro grants and sunset terms, but should not be treated as a binding contractual instrument. Consult a qualified attorney before relying on these terms.

Beta status

Hosted Talk-to-Tux is a private, application-gated beta. Access is free during beta, quota-managed, and subject to capacity, security, abuse, and policy limits.

Lifetime Pro intent

The project intends to grant lifetime Pro access for substantive contributions such as merged pull requests, verified bug reports, or accepted tutorials that help users honestly understand Talk-to-Tux. A lifetime grant means the Pro tier for the lifetime of the hosted Talk-to-Tux service, not a guarantee that the service will operate forever.

Contribution review

Maintainer discretion applies. Typos, dependency bumps, spam, fabricated reports, or low-effort submissions may not qualify. Grants may be capped for the first 1,000 awards, revoked for abuse, and appealed by emailing viperjuice@users.noreply.github.com.

Sunset and paid tiers

The beta should not end sooner than six months after public launch. The intent is to provide at least 30 days of notice before any transition to paid tiers. Legal, billing, and privacy terms should receive attorney review before paid billing is enabled.
